The victim of an attempted robbery yesterday handed over an unlicensed .38 revolver with six live rounds which was taken from the would-be robber.
Police in a statement said that at about 04:45 hours the victim was leaving his premises in Albouystown when he was confronted by a man armed with the firearm.
A scuffle ensued during which the intended victim was able to gain control of the firearm and the perpetrator ran away.
A haversack containing a screw-driver, a lug spanner, a black mask and a black toque which was dropped by the bandit was also handed over to the police.
