A 32-year-old rice farmer was yesterday granted bail on a charge of knowingly making a forged statement on a passport form.
According to the prosecution, on April 16, 2002, Mohase Chainsukh, of Handsome Creek, Mahaica, stated on a passport form that he was Bowal Gram.
His attorney, Vic Puran, stated that Chainsukh posed no flight risk and had an unblemished record.
Bail was set at $60,000. He is expected to return to court on August 3.
