Two Canadian college students are hospitalised under Customs and Anti Narcotics Unit guard at Woodlands, after they were busted at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport with cocaine in their luggage.
Reports are that the women, who were outgoing passengers on flight BW662, after being busted, told ranks that they had also ingested pellets. Up to last night they had excreted about 70 pellets.
This publication understands that the women, Brittany Shand, 20, and Canya Mohamed, 21, were recruited via the Internet by a man who offered them much cash.
Sources say that the women who had never been to Guyana arrived on the local shores about seven days ago and were put up at a city hotel. They were intercepted while boarding the flight between 9:30hrs and 10:00hrs.
Reports are that checks at the airport revealed that they had a whitish substance believed to be cocaine concealed in their luggage.
The volume of the drugs discovered in the suitcase exceeded one kilogram.
