Footballers of the Fruta Conquerors FC recently benefited from the benevolence of former President Mr Sheldon Braithwaite, now based in the United States of America.
Last Tuesday, on the Tucville Play Ground, Braithwaite handed over football equipment to administrators of the Club.
He indicated that he has been following the progress of the club and was impressed with the developmental programmes put in place towards the development of the youth footballers.
He also intimated that he is aware of the challenges experienced by players in the acquisition of gears and other support, thus his intervention.
The former President has also undertaken to render future support and has committed himself to incorporate assistance from other overseas-based Guyanese to render future support for the club.
Some of the areas that he has targeted for support include infrastructure development, establishing relationship with professional leagues and clubs around the world and scholarships for players.
