Sadar Sukdeo, aka Rakesh or Hangman, was on Tuesday last remanded to prison by Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson.
It is alleged that on May 23, at Uitvlugt, he unlawfully and maliciously wounded his brother, Colin Lawrence, in an attempt to murder him.
Sukdeo, who was not required to plead, and who was unrepresented in court yesterday, proceeded to ask the magistrate if he could be admitted to bail.
“Your worship yuh can’t grant me a lil bail?” Sukdeo asked. Police Prosecutor Seetaram objected to bail.
The prosecutor said that the virtual complainant sustained a puncture in the temple with a garden fork, and that doctors at the Georgetown Public Hospital consider his condition as critical.
Seetaram also requested that the matter be transferred to the Leonora Magistrate’s Court. The prosecution was granted the application and the accused was remanded to prison.
He is expected to make another court appearance on June 23 at Leonora.
