The Victoria leg of the Ministry of Culture Youth & Sports annual Inter-block football competition kicked off last Sunday at the Victoria Community Centre Ground.
Two games were played on the opening day. The first at 2:45 pm saw Backdam Super Eagles defeat Mid Section Lions 2-0.
The goal scorers were Marlis Johnson in the 67th minute and Desmond Grenada in the 80th to ensure the Eagles got off to an impressive start.
In the second contest at 4:30pm, Belfield Tigers overcame Road Front Elephants 2-1.
On target for the Tigers was Aubrey Gibson who fired home a double in the 43rd and 75th minutes, while Road Front’s lone response came off the boot of Seon Robinson.
The competition continues on Sunday with 2 games.
At 2:45pm Backdam Super Eagles tackle Road Front Lions and Mid Section Lions take on Belfield Tigers at 4:30pm.
