Dharam Ramessar, 25, was killed at around 22:00 hrs last night in an accident at Vigilance, East Coast of Demerara.
This newspaper understands that the young man was riding a bicycle when he was struck down by minibus BKK 8295.
Reports are that the driver of the bus Brentnol Franklyn of Melanie, East Coast Demerara took Ramessar to the Vigilance Police Station to report the matter and was detained.
Ramsessar, who hails from Vigilance, was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation with multiple injuries where he died shortly after.
Medical officials at the hospital were also forced into action last night when 28-year-old Eon Marcus of Growth Creek, Essequibo Coast was rushed to the hospital with injuries he sustained from a fallen tree.
Reports are that Marcus was chopping a tree when it fell causing a limb to puncture his neck.
When this news paper arrived at the hospital preparations were being made to have the injured man undergo an x-ray.
