Wakenaam man held on carnal knowledge allegation
Police at Wakenaam have detained a 19-year-old man from Sans Souci, on an allegation of having carnal knowledge of a girl in his community.
Reports are that the incident occurred some time on Thursday at the man’s house at Sans Souci.
This newspaper was told that the girl, who is said to be 15 years old, had an argument with her father earlier in the day after which she left the home.
According to reports the teen then went to the man’s house where the two reportedly had sex. Sources say that the teen had been sharing a relationship with the man.
However it was only after her parents questioned her that she told them where she was and revealed that she had sex with the man.
The matter was reported to the police and the teen was taken to a doctor to be medically examined.
The examination revealed that she was sexually active.
The man whom she claimed she had sex with has since been taken in to police custody and charges are likely to be laid.
