Banks DIH Chairman Clifford Reis, who has been at the helm of one of Guyana’s leading beverage manufacturers, transformed his success in the office to the golf course when he won his first major tournament, carting off last weekend’s keenly contested members competition at the Lusignan Club.
Playing off a 24 handicap Reis recorded a net score of 64 from a gross 88 to beat into second position Mark Lashley, who also played with a handicap 24 and ended with a net score of 69 from a gross 93. Brian Hackett finished in third place with a net 70 after he recorded a gross 97 playing off a handicap 27.
Robert Hanoman won the prize for closest to the pin.
