D’Andrade, Fernandes hit centuries in T&T

– Carmichael grabs 6-67

Twenty three year-old former Berbice and Guyana under-19 batsman Anthony D’Andrade stroked a polished 216 for the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) while former Demerara National youth player Kellon Carmichael grabbed 6-67 for Sweet Revenge in their fourth round Trinidad and Tobago two-day cricket match over the weekend.
UTT won the toss and invited Sweet Revenge to bat first and Guyanese Dexter ‘Skip’ Williams (25), Carmichael (21) and former Berbice senior Inter County all-rounder Luke Latiff (18) offered some resistance as their team fell for 218.

D’Andrade, who plays for Bermine in Guyana’s domestic competitions, then played an array of enterprising shots to lead UTT to 351 and first innings points.
Carmichael subsequently took 6-67 from 25 overs while Williams took 1-66 off 15 overs of off-spin for Sweet Revenge who ended the day on 135-5. The 37-year-old Latiff made 22, and fellow Guyanese Jamal Hinckson (20), Williams (16) and Carmichael (15) were the batsmen dismissed as the game ended in a draw.
And GCC batsman Elon Fernandes smashed 10 fours and five sixes in 103 as Chickland Sports Club were bowled out for 259 against host Balmain Sports Club with Bobby Sooklall taking 7-65.

Balmain Sports Club then took first innings points by reaching 283 all out, Mark.Pollian top scoring with 63. Chickland were dismissed for 150 in their second innings with Fernandes, the nephew of West Indies batsman Leon Johnson scoring 30. Balmain ended on 41-2 as the game petered out into a tame draw.
The in-form Fernandes had scored 126 and 64 in his last match against Brickfield Sports Club in the Central Zone first division competition.
