The Mayor and City Councilors of Georgetown recently appointed Gregory Erskine as the Chief City Engineer. He replaces Beverley Johnson.
Mr. Erskine was appointed to the post on April 1.
He has a Master’s Degree in Construction Management from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Trinidad and Tobago, and a Bachelor’s of Engineering Degree from the University of Guyana.
According to a release from M&CC, Mr. Erskine brings to the council six years of experience in the field of civil engineering.
Therefore, the release added, citizens stand to benefit from the expertise and experience of the new Chief Engineer.
It also said that Mr. Erskine is heading up the City Engineer’s Department at the Mayor and City Council, with all of its duties and responsibilities as detailed in the Municipal and District Councils Act, Chapter 28:01, and the council.
