Dear Editor,
I was very impressed to learn of the results from the just concluded Carifta Games in St. Lucia and these meetings are indeed good exposure towards the run up to world class competitions.
A colour each of every medal is also an improvement from previous meetings and we are getting there gradually.
As much as Jamaica headed the overall medal count and the highly favourite to win most of the races, it was a joy to know that Guyana and other regional athletes accelerated and made a statement and signature mark with their respective performances.
Italy will definitely be a much more competitive playing field and for what it’s worth, the Guyanese ambassadors must never for a second entertain the thought of been intimidated by fellow global competitors.
