Correction
DEAR EDITOR,
In my letter published in Tuesday’s Kaieteur News I wrongly calculated the value of the 5,404 deposits of Globe Trust with balances up to $100,000 as $540.4M. That is an overstatement since the value would be the sum of the actual balances, some of which would be considerably less, quite possibly by more than half.
I brought this to the Editor’s attention before publication but apparently too late for correction. The error is regretted.
