Bartica Regatta Football kicks off this evening
Red Earth of New York to compete
The 2009 Bartica Regatta Football competition is set to kick off this evening at the Bartica Community Centre ground featuring six teams.
A top prize of $100,000 will be at stake for the winning team with $60,000 and $40,000 set aside for the 2nd and 3rd placed teams.
The six teams vying for supremacy are North, South, Central, Riverain, Potaro and Red Earth of New York.
The opening ceremony preceded by the march past will commence at 17:00hrs with Bartica Football Association President Carlos Prowell and other high ranking Regional officials expected to be on hand.
