Former talk show host and businessman Lorri Alexander died at the St. Joseph Mercy Hospital yesterday afternoon. He was 73.
Born, Joseph Edward Lorimer Alexander, the former Special Political Assistant to President Forbes Burnham died after being a coma for the past two weeks, without regaining consciousness.
His wife of 19 years, Mrs. Paula Alexander, a Physiotherapist at the St Joseph Mercy Hospital, said that her husband was being treated for diabetes and related complications. Mrs. Alexander said that her husband’s health started to deteriorate in September. A month prior to his hospitalization Mr. Alexander had suffered a stroke.
He is known for his many outstanding works both locally and in the Caribbean, more so in Jamaica where he lived for some 30 to 40 years.
