The weak and vanishing PNCR and AFC

Freddie Kissoon in the Saturday issue (March 07, 2009) has now claimed that there is a weak opposition.
We all know that he is always backs the losing sides. He claims that he was a supporter of the PPP sometime back but decided to leave because of the PPP ideology.
He claims that he later join the WPA, voted for the AFC in the last election and now it seems as if he is on the side of the PNCR.
Freddie claims that Bisram’s polls do not show the true picture of the voting pattern of Guyana because it shows the PPP is in a strong position. All of Bisram poles might not be accurate but it tells that the PPP is the winning party and every one knows that the PPP has not lost any election. No one needs a poll to tell us that the PPP will win any election; we all know that.
The Guyana opposition does not have a strong group in North America as claimed by Freddie. Anytime a member of the opposition comes to these shores they draw a small crowd.
When Corbin came the last time, as an opposition leader the crowd was just a small amount as compared to when the PPP was in opposition when hundreds usually turn out to listen to any member of the PPP and even today the support continues as usual.
No opposition party has any support group in North America and if they do it is not known to the Guyanese population here. The Association of Concerned Guyanese (ACG), the PPP arm in Canada, is a well known organisation that is always in contact with the Guyanese population.
At their last picnic, hundreds of Guyanese turned out at the event. Every year thousands of people turn out at the Independence celebration, which is organised by the local Guyanese and the Guyana Consulate.
So Freddie’s claim that the PNCR and the AFC have not hundreds, but thousands of connections is just wishful thinking.
There is no violation of democracy so when a person in the USA asks the opposition to produce documents that show how the government violated democracy, none was produced according to Freddie because there aren’t any.
One thing Freddie is right about and that is the opposition is vanishing. Also that the AFC is yet to hold a picket exercise, stage a march, organise a street demonstration or a vigil.
Political work is a full time job and it needs patience and sacrifice.
The top members of the PPP never had another job when they were in the opposition. They spent their time with the suffering people.
What is the opposition doing with their time?
