Dale Hing receiving the winners trophy from Andrea Mc Adam.
The Guyana National Rifle Association (GNRA) held its first Practical Pistol competition for the year at the Timehri Ranges on Sunday last under the watchful eyes of Range Officers Dale Hing and Murtland Smith.
The hand gunners competed in typical Timehri weather consisting of a small amount of sunshine coupled with heavy downpours.
Competition was held in two stages, the I.P.S.C first stage saw each competitor shooting under the clock and falling plates for the second.
James Singh outshot the competition to claim the top spot in stage one with a hit factor of 2.88 (total points divided by time to complete the stage), second was Dale Hing followed by Ryan McKinnon with hit factors of 2.75 and 2.56 respectively.
In the falling plates stage competitors were tasked with hitting down four falling plates and two poppers spaced at approximately 20 metres range, again time was the deciding factor and at the end of this stage Hing came out on top as the quickest and most accurate on show ahead of Ryan McKinnon and James Singh in that order.
Hing took the overall winner prize followed by Singh, McKinnon, Johan DaSilva, and Murtland Smith.
