Essequibo name Castrol inter-county U-15 squad
The Essequibo Cricket Board selectors have named a squad of 14 to represent the county in the upcoming Castrol U-15 50 overs inter-county competition which starts today, with Essequibo taking on Demerara at Anna Regina.
The squad will be captained by Ricardo Adams while wicketkeeper batsman Fazal Karim will serve as his deputy.
Adams who hails from Zeelandia in Wakenaam, the same village where West Indies player Ramnaresh Sarwan was born, is a talented left handed batsman who also bowls off spin.
The team also includes allrounder Ahmad Rahaman Khan, batsmen Zameer Zaman, Herry Green and fast bowler Mohamed Razack.
The selectors have also named six standbys while Forbes Daniels has been named coach and Elroy Stephney the manager.
The full squad reads: Ricardo Adams (capt) Fazal Karim (v.c), Zameer Zaman, Rovindra Persaud, Mark Gonsalves, Herry Green, Quincy Jones, Javed Azeez, Mark Tyrell, Mohamed Razack, Vejai Surujpaul, Fabian Durant, Ahmad Rahaman Khan and Haiman Kowshaldai.
Stand Bys: Andy Dass, Akeel Wallace, Leandro Garraway, Christopher Williams, Sewnarine Odit and Ameer Mohamed.
