Ranks from the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) yesterday held a teenager in whose luggage they unearthed a significant amount of cocaine while he was an outgoing passenger at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Timehri.
Details of the bust are sketchy but this newspaper understands that the teenager, a US based Guyanese was an outgoing passenger on a Delta Airlines flight when he was stopped and search by the drug agents at the airport.
He was told of the offence and subsequently brought to the city where he was interrogated.
He is expected to be charged shortly.
