Second motorist dies in Essequibo accident
Mohamed Zaman, 36, of Vilvoorden, Essequibo Coast, succumbed to injuries he had sustained in a fatal accident on February 9 last; that accident had claimed the life of hire car driver Abdool Zinool, 46, of Middlesex, Essequibo Coast.
The accident occurred on the Suddie Public Road. The car, HB 5057, driven by the late Zinool, was proceeding north while driver Thakoor Persaud was proceeding south when both vehicles collided.
Abdool Zinool, who died on the spot, sustained a broken neck and a fractured leg and arm, while Zaman sustained a broken left leg. Driver of the 4 x 4, Thakoor Persaud, had received minor injuries.
Zaman was hospitalised up until his death on Thursday afternoon.
