While some could only dream of living to see 100, there is one woman who yesterday celebrated her 104th birthday. Triumph resident, Mrs. Roseline Ioana King, was the centenarian.
Mrs. King who is known to almost everyone in her community as ‘Teacher Rose’ has been living alone and taking care of herself up until two years ago.
Since then, she is being taken care of by a nurse, Sharon Mc Rae, who has since moved in with her because of advancing age.
Although Teacher Rose is losing her speech she still managed to sing her favorite song, “Oh dear oh dear what can the matter be”, yesterday.
Teacher Rose last worked at the LBI Primary school. She is survived by one son who lives abroad.
Yesterday the centenarian was treated to a birthday cake bearing the figurers of the number of years she has been alive.
