Topco Juice Mash Chess Tournament Starts Next Sunday
The Guyana Chess Federation will hold its first Chess Tournament of the year next Sunday at the YMCA Thomas Land.
The tournament will he played according to the Swiss System and consist of seven rounds, with four rounds on February 15 and the final three rounds on March 1.
A time control of two hours is allotted for each game. Registration starts a 9:30 am with the first round set to start at 10 am.
The tournament will be played in a senior and junior category.
Tournament fee for senior non-members is $800, while financial members will be charged $300.
In the junior section a fee of $600 for non-members and $300 for members will be charged.
The Guyana Chess Federation is urging all members to pay the dues for 2009.
