Sherwin Samson, who is presently on remand at the Camp Street jail, was yesterday charged for the 2006 murder of businesswoman Sharool Persaud.
He was not required to plead since the charge was indictable.
The accused made his court appearance before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson, yesterday.
Persaud was killed on September 26, 2006, when armed bandits stormed into the woman’s Regent Street clothing store, and robbed and shot her several times.
Samson, who was a taxi driver, is currently before the courts for robbery committed almost a year and a half ago.
