President of Alpha United Odinga Lumumba has described Wayne ‘Wiggy’ Dover who resigned as the club’s head coach on Monday, as an excellent worker.
In an invited comment on Dover’s departure, Lumumba said that there comes a time in life when a man feels that it’s time to move on and he must move on.
“Dover has been a very good worker while at Alpha, you cannot stop a man from moving on and I would on behalf of the club wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”
Asked whether Dover’s decision would set back the club, Lumumba stated, “Only time will tell, but there is always a home at Alpha for him. Players too, come and go, once you do it respectfully, the door is always opened.”
Dover’s assistant coaches, Paul James and Gavin Brown will now have to step up to the plate to continue the good work done by Dover during the two years he was associated with Alpha.
Brown was at the helm of the club when they participated in the Inter Guiana Club Championship last year in French Guyana and along with James, have coached National teams at the various levels.
With their combined experience, Alpha still has good knowledge in the coaching department but as the President said only time will tell.
