Dear Editor,
As of two years ago we have seen a high increase in the number of our youths begging in our streets. This is evident when we go to buy water; they beg for money or sometimes they offer to help fetch our bottles just to earn some form of cash.
They are also at supermarkets, banks, night clubs and more popular, they just walk up to us in the streets. This behaviour of our youths has become a public nuisance.
It’s also dangerous to them because they might even find themselves sleeping with men for money. But should we blame these innocent children who should have parents to guard and provide for their every need, which will prevent them from facing these burdens on a daily basis.
Then we have the Ministry of Human Services and Social Security who should take some responsibility in getting our youths off the streets and back into the classrooms, because after all, the youths are our future and we should protect them. Carl Roberts
