Yet another inmate has been hospitalized as the result of a brawl at the Georgetown Prison.
Yesterday 34-year-old Shawn Welch was stabbed by another inmate.
Reports are that Welch and another prisoner were involved in an altercation during which Welch was stabbed in the left side chest. The incident occurred some time around 10:27hrs in the remand dormitory of the prisons.
The injured Welch was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was treated and subsequently admitted.
Meanwhile, Prison Director Dale Erskine in an invited comment said the police have since launched an investigation following which disciplinary will be taken, if necessary.
Only recently there was a stabbing incident during which two prisoners at the same facility were wounded.
