Former Demerara Wicketkeeper Troy Lewis blasted eight sixes and eight fours on Sunday to register the first century in the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) as MSC crushed Diplomats by 146 runs at Malteenoes.
The 31-year-old Lewis returned to competitive cricket with an array of brutal shots in his pugnacious 113 as MSC scored at just under 11 runs per overs to reach the competition’s highest score of 215-5 of 15 overs as Imran Hassan supported with a robust 58.
Dwayne McPherson, who also plays for Police in GCA cricket, and Orlando Kurten, took two wickets each for Diplomats who were bowled out for 69 as Kurten was the only batsman to reach double figures with 10. Daniel Greavsande took 2-24 for the winners.
