The Floodlight Teams made a clean sweep against Enmore last Sunday in two matches played to raise funds for the Enmore Cricket Club at their East Coast village location.
In the first match, Enmore A won the toss and batted, finding themselves in early trouble when former national cricketer Sheik Mohammed was bowled by Ramchand Ragbeer for 3 in the second overs.
They struggled but eventually reached a respectable total of 166 for 9 in their allotted 25 overs with Karamchand Etwaroo top scoring with 49 and Jailall Deodass a swashbuckling 35. In reply Floodlight A knocked off the runs in 22 overs loosing 2 wickets.
This was mainly due by an entertaining second wicket partnership of 121 in 15 overs by man-of-the-match Derick Ramoutar 86 not out and Ramesh Sunich 35. Steve Narine the other batsman out made 7 and skipper Bedi Ramjewan 14 not out.
In the second game between Floodlight B and Enmore B, Floodlight B sent in to bat after loosing the toss made 175 for 6 in 20 overs with Randy Ketwaroo hitting a classy 71 not out. He was well supported by George Dilchand 25 and Rajin Mohammed 24.
Enmore replying fell short by 10 runs loosing 8 wickets with Rishi Dumay top scoring with 45. Acting skipper Dharam Persaud, standing in for Reaz Hussain, was the main bowler with 4 for an economical 23 runs off his allotted 4 overs.
At the presentation ceremony the Floodlight teams made a generous donation of $200,000 to the Enmore Cricket Club.
