Ramdeen blasts Warriors into today’s final against BermineFormer West Indies under-19 opener Richard Ramdeen slammed six sixes and three fours in a pugnacious 65 to lead Young Warriors to a 24-run victory against Port Mourant yesterday in the second Berbice zone semi-final of the national Neal & Massy first division 40-overs cricket competition.
Young Warriors, who made 183 all out in 38.4 overs and bowled out Port Mourant for 159 in 37. 5 overs, will face-off with New Amsterdam side Bermine in today’s zone final at Rose Hall Canje from 11:00hrs with Umpires Dhieranidranauth Somwaru and Clement Brusch officiating.
Ramdeen, who rescued his team from 127-7, got support from national under-19 batsman Seon Hetmyer who made 41 as Rajendra Bolo took (2-19), Yogindra Harrinarine (2-18) and Sameer Khan (2-26) did the damage for Young Warriors.
Former Guyana First -Class batsman Hoomchand Pooran made 30 and got support from Rajiv Ivan who made 20 as Balram Samaroo took 3-21 and Berbice medium pacer Paul Wintz had 2-22 for the Cumberland line-up.
