Farmer crushed by fallen tree
An East Bank Essequibo farmer was crushed to death when a tree he was cutting down fell on him at around 13:20 hours yesterday.
Gregory Gibson was at his farm at Aliki, Essequibo River, when the incident occurred. Details of the mishap are sketchy but police said that Gibson suffered severe injuries to several parts of his body when the tree fell on him.
It is not yet clear who discovered the dead farmer but police are investigating.
