Another prisoner escapes
Troy Otto, also known as Troy Crawford
NEW AMSTERDAM, BERBICE – Troy Otto, also known as Troy Crawford, a convicted prisoner, escaped from the New Amsterdam Prisons yesterday.
According to information received, the 25-year-old of Lot 142 Swamp Street, West Bank Demerara, was serving a three-year sentence for throwing a corrosive substance on another person.
Early yesterday morning, during the routine check, prison officials discovered that the man was missing.
From all indications, he expanded two metal bars and made good his escape. It is suspected that the escapee made his move some time between 04:30 hours and 05:45 hours.
Officials from both the Guyana Prison Service and Guyana Police Force are on the hunt for the escaped prisoner.
