Fruta Conquerors through goals from two members of their young brigade defeated Pele 2-1 in the feature game of a double-header as the Cellink Plus Premier League continued last Friday at the Tucville ground.
The two teams who remained deadlocked 1-1 at the end of regulation time were eventually separated by Manasseh Primo’s strike two minutes into injury time that inflicted heartbreak on the Pele players and fans.
Earlier, Conquerors Trevon Lythcott’s 65th minute effort gave the host the lead, before Jermaine Willis responded for Pele five minutes later.
In the opening fixture, Santos and GFC played to a nil-all stalemate.
The competition continues today with another double-header which will see tournament leaders GDF, who holds the lead on 23 points squaring off against defending champions Alpha United on 22, while Sunburst Camptown, who also have 22 points, but trails Alpha on goal difference, taking on bottom-of-the-table Uprising from 18:00 hrs.
