Cops trying to identify hit-and-run victim
Police are trying to ascertain the identity of a man of East Indian ancestry who was killed in a hit-and-run accident on Saturday night at Diamond, East Bank Demerara.
The man, who is believed to be a destitute, died on the spot shortly before midnight after he was hit by a car while walking along the main access road leading into Diamond New Scheme.
Police have been unable to identify the vehicle which struck him down. The victim’s body is at the Georgetown Public Hospital mortuary.
