Armed gang carts off $8M from Rose Hall store
Police in Berbice are on the hunt for a three-man gang that committed a daring midday robbery on the T-Town Store at Rose Hall yesterday.
The men reportedly carted off $8M in cash from the store which is owned by Abdool Ramzan.
According to reports, the three men who were all carrying guns entered the store posing as customers and held up the proprietor’s daughter and an employee.
The men then took them to another part of the store where they confronted Ramzan who was lying in a hammock.
The businessman was forced to hand over G$368,000 and a quantity of foreign currency, which amounted to a total of $8M.
The bandits, who were unmasked, then ran out of the store unchallenged.
The police were informed and combed the area unsuccessfully for the men.
