DEAR EDITOR,
I am not living very far from the Georgetown Hospital so I was able to visit the scene of the fire on August 14, which caused some major damage.
As a citizen, the Georgetown Hospital is where I would usually go to get my medication, free of charge. Therefore, it was with great sadness and a heavy heart that I witnessed what took place Wednesday morning.
I just want to say that although many persons complain about the service and I must accept that there are things which can be improved, the service is on par and sometimes even above that which is offered in other countries.
Although the hospital is fully supported by Government, I hope citizens and businesses alike would make a special effort to help them get back some of the items which were destroyed by the fire. We must not only help individuals but institutions from which we all benefit as well. D. Charles
