Last Tuesday marked the commencement of practice sessions for the national female rugby squad called to prepare for the upcoming NAWIRA Sevens Championships which will take place from October 25-26 in the Bahamas.
The Guyana Rugby Football Union (GRFU) recently named twenty players to begin preparation for the championship tournament.
Twelve of those players will be selected in October to represent Guyana at the Championships.
The players were seen going through fitness and ball handling drills under the watchful eyes of Head Coach Alton Agard and his assistant Cornel Millington.
The full squad is: Alicia Jalu, Andrea Lashley, Careem Skeete, Carrin Carter, Charmin Pearson, Collette Hope, Desaun Josiah, Grace Jarvis, Latoya Hamilton, Laurel Anderson, Lisa Mangroo, Maurees Skeete, Natolia Primo, Nicole Nero, Nikita Davis, Sabola Gray, Shennel Daniels, Theresa Torres, Tracey Greaves and Tricia Munroe.
Practice days at the National Park are Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 4:30 p.m.
