The parents of nine-month- old Zephaniah Ramnarayan are appealing to the public to assist them in raising funds to save the baby’s life.
The child’s mother, Farha Jeboo, in an interview with Kaieteur News yesterday, highlighted the need for the critical cardiology surgery, which doctors say has to be accessed in Trinidad at the cost of US$8,500.
Jeboo said that, about one month ago, she was forced to rush her son to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) after he developed a high fever.
She was told by medical experts at the Caribbean Heart Institute that her son has a heart defect.
Young Zephaniah was then taken to the Balwant Singh Hospital, where further tests revealed that he has a cyanotic heart disease that needs urgent attention.
The mother lamented yesterday that time is of the essence, since the surgical intervention should be done no later than August 26.
The parents of baby Zephaniah are pleading with the public to give their son a new lease on life by making donations towards his medical intervention.
