Black Hawks Martial Arts School walked away with a total haul of 29 medals at the recently concluded tournament which was staged from July 19-20, at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
The count represented 12 each gold and silver medals and 5 bronze and two Grand Champion titles in an impressive display to be among the top clubs at the event.
Sensei Garfield Newton won the Kumite segment and was crowned a Grand Champion, while Roshan Samsundar emerged the winner of the Kata display and was also named as a Grand Champion.
Others to perform well during the championships were: Bertram Williams, who was victorious in three categories including Kata, Continuous Sparring and Kumite; Patrick Legall- 1st Kumite and 2nd Kata; Darnel Mason- 1st Kata, 2nd Kumite; Denoila Bristol- 1st Kata, 2nd Kumite; Corwin D’Anjou- 1st Weapon Kata, 2nd Kumite and 3rd Kata; Hobert Bhagwandeen- 1st Kumite, 3rd Kata; Christopher Thompson- 2nd Kata, 2nd Kumite; Michael Jones- 2nd Kumite, 2nd Weapon Kata; Nicholas Braithwaite- 2nd Kata (Beginners); Kenroy Myers- 2nd Kata; Christopher Ray- 2nd Kumite; Kwanza Thompson- 2nd Kumite; Delroy Headley- 3rd Kumite; Colwin Benn- 3rd Kumite.
