A Guyanese resident in Barbados was reportedly shot dead, while his female employer, who is also Guyanese, is in a critical condition after six gunmen stormed a bar in Bay Street, St. Michael, on Saturday.
Kaieteur News understands that the owner of the bar, Seelochanie Samuels, received three gunshot wounds to her abdomen, while her employee, who is only known as Chris, from Berbice, was killed on the spot.
According to a relative, Samuels and her employee were about to close the bar when the gunmen raided the business.
Both Guyanese were shot by the men, but it is not yet clear if robbery was the motive.
The relative said that Samuels has been a strong advocate for the rights of Guyanese living on the island.
More details will be published in tomorrow’s edition.
