The new five-storey office complex, located obliquely opposite the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat at Turkeyen, East Coast Demerara, will soon be open.
The facility will house about 125 CARICOM staff members, many of whom have already started occupying the facility. CARICOM is expected to take full occupancy of the building on June 30.
The 30,000 square foot building is equipped with a conference room, training arenas, general offices and a large canteen on the ground floor, among other amenities.
The building is also equipped with some modern electronic features for safety and security, and is also built to facilitate low energy consumption.
Prime Minister Samuel Hinds visited the location yesterday to inspect its various features and was impressed.
Mr. Hinds was accompanied by Minister of Finance Ashni Singh and Minister within the Ministry of Finance Jennifer Webster, among others.
