As the Ministry of Culture Youth and Sports continues their Grass Roots Inter Bloc Football programme targeting the outlaying areas in the first instance, National Sports Commission Football Coach Dennis Hunte will commence coaching sessions in Mahdia today.
The sessions will see Hunte working with the three teams who will be competing for the top prizes on offer when their competition takes place, June 27 – 29.
Hunte said his main emphasis will be on finishing since the time is too short for in depth sessions in other areas. He would also have a couple of fitness sessions with the players. Similar coaching sessions were conducted in Linden with female players and he is expected to visit other areas to conduct comparable programmes.
Coach Hunte, a former junior national midfield player (1972 – 73) started his coaching career in 1998 and is the current coach of the Pele Football Club junior teams and assistant to Vibert Butts who is the coach of the senior team.
