Essequibo man held for murdering brother-in-law
Police in Essequibo have detained a man in connection with the death of his brother-in-law Eric Murray.
Murray, 20, a labourer from Aurora, Essequibo Coast died at the Georgetown Public Hospital yesterday morning, hours after he was transferred from the Cinderella county for medical attention.
Police in a press release stated that Murray and the suspect had a misunderstanding at around 14:00 hours on Tuesday.
During the argument it is alleged that Murray was struck on his head with a piece of wood.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital and subsequently taken to the GPHC where he succumbed.
