Kaieteur Sports – The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) KFC 2023 Elite Football League Season Five continued on Saturday at the GFF National Training Centre in Providence. The night featured a thrilling match between Milerock FC and Victoria Kings FC, which ended in a hard-fought 1-1 draw, leaving fans on the edge of their seats.
Both teams showcased exceptional defensive skills in the forty-five minutes of play, with neither side able to breach the opponent’s net in the first half. The match remained deadlocked at 0-0 at halftime, setting the stage for an intense battle in the second half.
Milerock FC later returned from the break with renewed energy, and their efforts were soon rewarded. In the 48th minute, Rawle Gittens found the back of the net, giving Milerock FC the lead. The goal injected a new sense of urgency into the match, as both teams pushed forward in search of a decisive goal.
The game turned into a captivating end-to-end battle, captivating the spectators who were treated to a display of football mastery. Milerock FC managed to maintain a clean sheet throughout the second half, frustrating their opponents with their solid defense. Meanwhile, in the dying moments of the match, Calvin DeSouza of Victoria Kings FC scored a remarkable equalizer in the 93rd minute (three minutes into stoppage time), leaving the outcome in suspense. Milerock FC made a few unsuccessful attempts at goal in the latter stages, but time ran out as the referee blew the final whistle, signaling the end of the match with the score tied at 1-1.
