Kaieteur News – A man on Wednesday reportedly admitted to stealing a bag of stolen electrical tools when police captured him at Bushy Park, Parika, East Bank Essequibo.
According to police, the man was tracked down after they received reports that some time after 21:00hrs on Tuesday he had broken into the two-storey home of a 24-year-old woman at Hydronie Public Road, Parika and stole her clothes, an outboard engine and a quantity of electrical tools.
The woman told police that she might have been asleep when the man broke into her home. She recalled securing her house and went to bed. When she woke up the following morning, the items were missing and one of her windows was left open.
After learning that the suspect might be a 28-year-old man from Façade, Parika investigators tracked him down to Bushy Park and found him with a salt bag filled with the stolen items. Ranks arrested him immediately and took him to the Parika Police Station where he admitted to stealing the items from the woman. The suspect remains in police custody.
