Teen killed during row on Robb Street
(Kaieteur News) – A 16-year-old boy was stabbed to death early Monday morning during an altercation along Robb Street, Lacytown, Georgetown.
Dead is Andel Martin of Parfaite Harmonie, West Bank Demerara. The incident occurred around 01:30. Kaieteur News understands that a 23-year-old suspect has since been arrested and is currently in police custody assisting with investigations.

According to an eyewitness, Martin was among a group of four persons who became involved in an argument with the suspect. The situation escalated, resulting in the suspect allegedly stabbing the teen before fleeing the scene.
“A witness said, ‘them man went on the road and they had a disagreement. The man jook he and he run and fall down. They went troubling the man and he say “leff me alone,” they been fatiguing the man all the time. It was the decease and four other men went troubling the man and the man can’t take it anymore and fire a jook at he,’” the eyewitness related.
Martin’s aunt, Candacy Duncan, also spoke with reporters, recalling how she learned of the incident. “I was going in my bed and my nephew call me and say andel get jook up,” she said. Duncan explained that she later received additional information from another individual, who claimed that he and Martin were attacked by several men armed with cutlasses. The individual reportedly fled but later returned to find Martin lying motionless on the ground. “They turned him around, he aint moving,” she said.

Upon hearing the news, relatives rushed to the scene, where they identified Martin’s body. Duncan noted that her nephew was a familiar presence in the area, often assisting patrons nearby entertainment venues. “He does come out at the clubs and help people park car direct them. He does also sell mints there,” she said.
She also disclosed that Martin had previous encounters with the police. “He does get problem with the police, he does be on the road doing his mischief. A week ago he come with the police by me and the police tell me he been accused of stealing three electronic bikes,” she said.
Meanwhile, the Red Dragon Club, in a statement, extended condolences to the family while distancing itself from the incident. “We categorically state that this incident did not occur within or on the premises of Club Red Dragon, and the club has no involvement whatsoever in the matter. Club Red Dragon maintains a strict 18+ entry policy, and we do not permit minors under any circumstances. Our security protocols are designed to ensure full compliance with this standard at all times. We remain committed to providing a safe, controlled, and responsible environment for our patrons,” the statement said. Up to press time, the Guyana Police Force has not issued a statement.
