(Kaieteur News) – Trinidad and Tobago social media personality, Jamel Sampson is set to expand his ice cream brand, Certified Scoop, into Guyana with a new location at TAJ Dream Ogle.
According to a press release issued March 18, the new outlet will form part of the TAJ Dream Ogle development, a major mixed-use project under construction near the Eugene F. Correia International Airport. The store is expected to open in mid-2027 and will be the brand’s third location and its first outside of Trinidad and Tobago.
“Guyana is one of the most exciting markets in the Caribbean right now,” Sampson said. “Opening Certified Scoop at TAJ Dream Ogle and purchasing my first condo in the development was an easy decision. I believe strongly in the future of Guyana, both for business and for real estate.”
Sampson, who has built a regional following of more than four million across social media platforms, has grown his brand into a recognisable name across the Caribbean. His existing outlets in Trinidad have attracted strong customer turnout, driven by both the product and the brand’s entertainment-focused experience.
The Guyana location is expected to replicate that model, combining premium ice cream offerings with the personality of the brand. The expansion is also expected to create employment opportunities locally, while incorporating characters from the Certified Sampson brand into the in-store experience.
Developer Giovanni Mola said the move signals confidence in Guyana’s growing economy.
“The fact that he is not only opening a business here but also purchasing a condo speaks volumes about the confidence regional entrepreneurs have in Guyana’s future,” Mola said.
TAJ Dream Ogle is being developed by Coastal Rim Properties in partnership with former NBA Hall of Famer Hakeem Olajuwon.
The project forms part of a broader surge in commercial and residential investments across Guyana, driven by rapid economic growth in recent years. TAJ Dream Ogle is slated for completion and opening in mid-2027.
