It was reported that the motor car was proceeding west along the southern driving lane of Enmore Public Road when the electric cycle reportedly rode across the roadway from north to south into the vehicle’s path. Police said the driver alleged that he swerved south and applied brakes in an effort to avoid a collision, but the right-side front portion of the car collided with the electric cycle.
As a result of the impact, Eliber was flung into the air before landing on the roadway. Emergency Medical Technicians were summoned to the scene and the injured man was examined by a doctor attached to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation, who pronounced him dead.
Eliber’s body was taken to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, for a post-mortem examination.
Police reported that a breathalyser test conducted on the driver recorded readings of 35 and 39 micrograms of alcohol in his breath. He is currently in police custody assisting with the investigation.
