(Kaieteur News) – Since opening its company doors 14 years ago, Caribbean Motor Spares (CMS) Guyana has emerged as a prominent name in the supply of vehicle maintenance products and services that even extends beyond local bounds. Over the years, it operated through five locations across the country.
On Sunday January 25, the company officially cut the ceremonial ribbon for its sixth branch, unveiled at Lot 40, No. 69 Village, Corentyne, a strategic and timely expansion backed by the entity’s commitment to making its services convenient to that part of Guyana.
General Manager, Mr. Hardial Doobay, in his address to company officials and invitees, emphasised said the ceremony was a salute to “vision, perseverance and teamwork,” supported by an anchored commitment to churn out excellence.
“This milestone represents years of hard work, sacrifice, dedication and faith in our purpose and mission. Caribbean Motor Spares began humbly in the year 2012, driven by a simple but yet powerful goal to provide high-quality automotive spares, reliable service and exceptional customer care to the people of Guyana. From our very first location, we focused on building trust, delivering value and ensuring that our customers always left satisfied and confident in our products.”

The new store, he added, came not only through a business decision, but a resolve to be of service to the community. This also translates to employment opportunities created by the opening of the new branch, together with the critical value the new location will have for scores of drivers, especially hire car, and particularly truck, tractor and heavy-duty machine operators along the Corentyne corridor whose activities are mainly agriculture-based. This aligns with the company’s goal of improving access.
Equally satisfying was the accomplishment of both its business endeavors as well as its national contributions. Caribbean Motor Spares affirmed its pride in supporting local businesses for over a decade.
Highlighting this, the general manager noted that “our growth reflects not only our business success, but also our contribution to the automotive sector and economy.”
“Our success is not measured only by the number of branches we open, but by the relationships we build, the lives we impact, and the value we bring to our communities. We remain committed to maintaining the high standards of service, innovation and professionalism in everything we do,” Doobay stated
Speaking to this publication, he explained that the services and products offered to the Guyana market are unique. He stated that CMS’s presence in the region speaks confidence in the Guyanese economy, but also “gives customers an opportunity to experience our products, the service that we boast so much about, and our unique culture that we bring to the village and the entire Corentyne.”
Offering remarks as president of the Berbice Chamber of Commerce and Development Association (BCCDA), Samantha Reid welcomed CMS to the region, and lauded its decision to erect its branch there, which she said was “good for Berbice.” Reid also highlighted that the company is promoting economic growth, and hailed it as a partner in development.
Joel Ghansham, Strategic Marketing Partner for CMS, commended the company for the authenticity of its products.
Also giving remarks at the event was Kathy Smith, President of the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), and Vice-Chairman of the Private Sector Commission (PSC).
“The company has continued to grow and refine its product and service delivery with multiple locations serving both passengers and commercial vehicles. So, I want to think that this company is an appropriate case study on developing a sustainable business model,” she stated.
Other officials present at the opening ceremony included Mrs. Kavita Doobay (Assistant General Manager), Hardesh Narine (Berbice Branch Manager), and executives from Scotiabank and the Upper Corentyne Chamber of Commerce.
The well-established enterprise supplies a range of vehicular essentials through its branches at 210 Albert and Charlotte Street, Bourda, Georgetown; 74 Grove Public Road, East Bank Demerara; 74 Zeelugt Public Road, East Bank Essequibo, 39 Bath Experiment, West Coast Berbice, Distribution Center at 729 Great Diamond, East Bank Essequibo, and now through its latest instalment at No. 69 Village, Corentyne.
