(Kaieteur News) – The Customs Anti-Narcotics Units (CANU) on Wednesday seized 22.394 kilograms or 49.2 pounds of cocaine during an operation in La Grange, West Bank Demerara.
The unit said CANU officers, acting on information, conducted an operation in the vicinity of the La Grange Public Road, West Bank Demerara, where they intercepted a motor vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed 20 brick-like parcels containing a quantity of cocaine.
The suspects were arrested and escorted to the CANU headquarters along with the narcotics, which was weighed, and totaled 22.394 kg. Investigations are ongoing.
