(Kaieteur News) – The Guyana National Industrial Company Incorporated (GNIC) has been recognised as “Runner-Up – Terminal of the Year 2025.”
GNIC received the award at the Guyana Shipping Association’s Annual Awards Ceremony held on December 16, at the Guyana Marriott Hotel. GNIC deems the award to be a moment that underscores its continued focus on safe, efficient and customer-centred terminal operations.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of GNIC, Gobin Persaud welcomed the award as an affirmation of the team’s culture of excellence. In his remarks, Persaud said, “I wish to offer congratulations to the management and staff of GNIC on being awarded Runner-up – Terminal of Year 2025 by the Shipping Association of Guyana. This recognition is a clear testament to the team’s professionalism, operational excellence, teamwork and unwavering commitment to quality service within Guyana’s Maritime and Logistics sector.”

The company noted that this recognition reflects its ongoing investments in operational discipline, HSSE performance, equipment readiness, and people development, all of which are cornerstones that support the company’s role in Guyana’s Maritime and Logistics ecosystem and its broader national development trajectory.
It should be noted that GNIC’s work spans critical services that support national commerce and industry, including terminal and stevedoring operations as well as shipbuilding, ship repairs and engineering support.
“As GNIC celebrates this award, the company acknowledges the dedication of its employees and the valued relationships with customers, regulatory partners, shipping agents, and the wider maritime community who help drive higher standards across the sector,” the company said.
With roots dating back to the 1840s, GNIC in a release said it is honoured to have provided outstanding service to Guyana for more than 180 years and will continue to raise the bar for quality and excellence in the years ahead. The company also underscored its commitment to serving customers with dignity and unwavering commitment, delivering consistent value through reliable operations, safe execution, and responsive service.
